When To "Buy" Coupons

To most people, "buying" coupons makes no sense at all. To the smart shopper, it's an opportunity to save some big money. There are times when you have to spend money to make money. For instance, when I saw a recent Electrasol coupon in a newspaper flyer for $2.50 off a box, I knew I had to have more coupons. I went online and found them for $.25 each and ordered 10 of them (the maximum offered). I spent $2.50, but after using them, saved $25.00. It was a no-brainer for me. Here's a photo from the last run to purchase, using my remaining 5 coupons. They were priced $3.00 at the Dollar General, so using the coupons, I got Electrasol for $.50 a box.

So, it's smart to purchase coupons:

1. For a product you have used and like.
2. When the coupon is a high value.
3. To re-stock a depleted coupon stash (you can buy coupons in lots of 100 or more).
4. You know you will be able to use all of the coupons before they expire.
5. The product has a long shelf life or you will use/freeze the product before the expiration dates.
I am currently using up coupons I have for my dog's favorite brand of dog food. I am getting the 4 lb bags for $1.49 after using $3.00 coupons. This is saving me a ton of money!

There are plenty of places online to purchase coupons. (You really are not purchasing the coupons themselves, since that is against the law, you are paying for the time of clipping and sorting the coupons). Just go to your favorite search engine and type in the words "buy coupons" and you will be amazed. If you find a coupon that you're really excited about, search the coupon sites and go for it!
