There is nothing like homemade pickles! (The picture is of my latest batch) No preservatives, inexpensive and taste so very good! Here's one of my favorite, quick and easy recipes for homemade pickles to use up those cucumbers in the garden:
Refrigerator Pickles:
6 cups sliced cucumbers (or cut in chunks...your choice)
1 cup sliced onion
1 cup vinegar
1 1/2 to 2 cups sugar (depending on how sweet you like them)
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon celery seed
Heat vinegar, sugar, salt, and celery seed.
Pour over cucumbers, onions and green pepper.
Store in refrigerator.
These will keep for many months.
I reuse old jars since they're not "canned" pickles. Hope you enjoy!
