National Creamsicle Day

Today we celebrate that smooth, icy taste sensation, the creamsicle. Remember getting these tasty treats from the ice cream truck? Well, since then we have all unfortunately learned that they aren't the best things for our waistlines....but they taste soooo good! What's a girl to do? Solution: Creamsicle Cubes. Chilly, orangey, drop in your mouth frozen treats that you make at home and are low fat to boot! Here's what you do:

1 cup lowfat vanilla yogurt
1 cup orange juice

Fill ice cube trays half full with the yogurt. Top off with the orange juice. Freeze three hours to overnight.

Use the cubes as a treat themselves, or add to some fat free milk and blend for yummy smoothies. At 18 calories and .6 grams of fat per cube, you can't go wrong! Give it a try!

Happy National Creamsicle Day!
