Today has been put aside to celebrate the invention of the eyeglasses in the year 1287. Historians are not certain who invented the first spectacles. In the late thirteenth century (around 1287) paintings first appeared with people wearing or holding spectacles. From these paintings we know that spectacles were invented in Italy. So if you are one of the people who benefit from this invention, here's a frugal, homemade recipe for eyeglass cleaning solution:.
Fill a spray bottle (any size will do) with 3/4 rubbing alcohol and 1/4 water. Put in a few drops of dish soap. Spray both sides of each lens and rub clean with a soft cloth. Never use paper towels, toilet paper or kleenex as they contain harsh abrasives that will scratch your lenses."
