Have you seen the price of dryer sheets lately? Holy crikey! And the ones you can get in your dollar store...not so great. Well, there is a way you can have great-smelling, static-free clothing without using dryer sheets.

For the first method, all you need is an old rag and a spray bottle. Fill the spray bottle with dilluted liquid fabric softener (1 part fabric softener to 4 parts water). Spray the mixture onto the old rag and toss in the dryer with your wet clothes.

The second method works in the same manner, different method. Soak cut-up pieces of fabric (old towels, t-shirts, whatever) in the dilluted liquid fabric softener. Hang to dry. Keep a container of the dried rags on top of your dryer and grab one for each dryer cycle.

What I love about this is not only can I scratch an item off of my shopping list forever, but I get to choose my favorite scent...or mix it up!
